Terry Fox

Investigations & Case Management

Terry Fox is a former career detective, retiring after 30 years police service from The Derbyshire Constabulary with the rank of Detective Chief Inspector. He has practical experience in most areas of criminal investigation, and has been an established member of specialised investigative units including:

  • Drugs
  • Fraud
  • Major crime enquiries
  • Regional Crime Squads
  • Criminal Intelligence.

Practical experience in the above fields includes:-

  • Handling at both National supply level and Force receipt level of IOCA material
  • Dealing with PII applications
  • Practical experience of working within the guidelines to serious crime investigation laid down by PACE and RIPA
  • Full HOLMES training and practical investigative usage at senior level
  • Investigation and of compilation of large volume files
  • Investigation of Major Crime, including murder, rape, counterfeiting and other like incidents
  • Practical experience of disclosure on major files
  • Briefing Counsel

He was seconded to work with The National Drugs Intelligence Unit at New Scotland Yard, after which he became a member of The Home Office Development Team, which brought into being The National Criminal Intelligence Service. His formal qualifications include an MA in Criminal Justice and BA in Social Sciences. For the last twelve years Terry has worked as a consultant in support of lawyers in both criminal and civil procedures, through which he has maintained and updated his specialist knowledge in large and serious case management. He has managed several CCU Contracted files concerning fraud, MTIC fraud and drug trafficking amongst other complex matters. He meets both the Essential and Desirable criteria required for inclusion as a Case Manager on this application for VHCC (Crime) Panel status. He is currently accredited by the CCU as Grade B Case Worker.
